Jon and I celebrated out 4th Anniversary on the 10th. We thought about making big plans and try and get away for the weekend, but unfortunately we were unable to find someone to take care of Benjamin while we got away. But all is well. We had a great day celebrating our Anniversary. One thing that made it real nice was that Jon was doing research that week and basically had the day off to spend with Ben and I. It started out with Ben sleeping in so I was able to go out with my walking group in the morning while Jon stayed home with Ben. I thought that I was in charge of our weekly StoryTime, but it turned out I wasnt't, so the three of us went to Subway for lunch and went and got our Anniversary gift, this year we got ourselves and Ice Cream Maker. We made Mint Oreo Ice Cream that night, it was fabulous.
After we got home from lunch Ben and I both had a nap, Jon went to "run errands", and when I woke up there was a nice surprise waiting in the kitchen. An
Edible Bouquet! These are one of my most favorite things. Sometimes instead of flowers Jon will get me one of these. It's a little more then the $10 bouquet of flowers Jon can get at Walmart, but I feel like I can enjoy them...litterally, and also share them with Jon. Benjamin also likes to eat the chocolate off the fruit and leave it for Jon or I to eat. We were able to find someone to watch Ben for us while we went out to dinner. Jon surprised me by taking me to a nice place that I never of before. A resident he was working with suggested this place,
Rooney's. It was a very nice place. It was a quiant little restaurant, the bill came to over $100 but worth every penny. The food basically melted in our mouths. It's hard to believer that we have been married for 4 years. Sometimes it feels like we just got married, but at the same time, in a good way, it seems like we've been together and married forever. I am so grateful to have met Jon and to have him in my life. He is a wonderful man. I am very fortunate to have found my "dream man" and I couldn't have asked for a better man. Happy 4 Years!
So you may be wondering why I am so excited about Benjamin eating Cheerios. But Ben ate cereal with milk for the first time today. Now you may be wondering why it has taken me so long to do this, the mess of course. After our walk this morning I was trying to decide what to feed Ben for breakfast. I didn't feel like making him eggs or oatmeal, which I usually spoon feed because of the mess, and so I contemplated what to feed him. I opened the pantry and saw all this 
cereal that Jon and I aren't eating right now. So I thought I would give Ben some Cheerios. I then decided to try and give him cereal with milk. Ben LOVED it! He got milk and Cheerios all over him, but he did well for the most part. I am so proud of my little boy. He is growing up so fast. I think I never really tried this before because I didn't want to face the fact that he is growing up and trying to be a big boy. But look at his big grin, he LOVED it. It was such a success that this will probably be the way breakfast goes from now on.
